The Moments That Change How You Lead Rarely Happen in a Course.
The Leadership Development Scribble Pad: a guided journal for the moments that count. You write. You keep.
A place to write down what happened, and what you'll try next.
Not a textbook. Not tied to any course.
Think of it as a workbench you keep next to whatever you're working through.
Use it to write down what happened, notice the patterns behind it, and keep a record of what you’re doing differently with the people you lead. It works whether you’re in a leadership course, a diploma, or just learning on the job.
Five parts, each shaped like a different kind of thinking leadership asks of you.
It’s a fillable PDF, so you can type straight into it on your laptop or tablet with Adobe Acrobat or any PDF reader. Typing keeps your entries quick and searchable, and you get it as an instant download.
You don’t have to use the parts in order, and you don’t need to fill every page.
The Five Parts
This 100-page journal includes:
- Situation & Impact (30 pages): capture a real leadership moment and what it did to the people involved
- Pattern & Principle (25 pages): turn a one-off situation into something you recognize repeating
- People I Lead (20 pages): track one specific person: what they need and where trust stands
- Self-Assessment Log (15 pages): record findings from whatever assessment you're using, and track change over time
- Forward Action & Review (10 pages): give a commitment a date, then come back and check on it honestly
This Journal Is Perfect For You If
- You're developing as a leader, whether through a single course, a diploma, or years on the job
- You want to catch the patterns in how you handle people, not just remember one-off moments
- You've taken an assessment, like a 360 or a leadership profile, and want somewhere to track what changes
- You want to follow up on your own commitments, with a date attached
- You like to think on paper before you act
You don’t need a program for this. A formal course is optional.
What This Is Not
It’s not a leadership certificate or diploma. It’s your personal, private notebook.
The People I Lead section asks you to use only a first name or initial for anyone you write about, never full identifying details. And your writing stays with you, locally on your own device. Nothing you type is sent to or reviewed by us.
FAQs
Is this tied to a specific course?
No. It’s built to work across any leadership course, diploma, or your own on-the-job experience.
Is this the same as a course workbook?
No. Some programs come with their own course-specific workbooks. This journal is a separate, general-purpose product that’s yours to keep and use across any program, and it isn’t tied to completing a specific course.
What do I need to open and fill it in?
Adobe Acrobat or any PDF reader on your laptop or tablet. It’s a fillable PDF, so you type straight into it.
Can I share the PDF with a friend or colleague?
No. It’s a licensed, personal-use product, so please don’t share, resell or redistribute it in any form, filled or blank.
Is my writing private?
Yes. The notebook stays with you on your own device, and your entries are never sent to or reviewed by us. We’d suggest keeping it that way and not sharing it with anyone. That’s also why we ask you to use first names or initials only when writing about people.
